Côte d'Ivoire/Environment: Official launch of the project "Abidjan, green city of Africa, city without pollution
The effective start of the pilot project "Abidjan, green city of Africa, city without pollution" took place on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the traffic circle of Siporex in the town of Yopougon, west of Abidjan.
This project initiated by the foundation Tapé Trepeba Juliette Moses for the development of the nation aims to clean, beautify and monitor the main streets, traffic circles and major intersections against illegal dumping of all kinds of waste that make our capital unfit. To this end, more than 1000 volunteer agents of the environment and salubrity have been recruited, trained for this project of general interest. These "environmental soldiers" have invaded the streets of the town of Yopougon to raise awareness among the population on the importance of keeping the environment clean.
100 volunteers in the field
For the start of this project, there are 100 volunteers divided into six (6) divisions with a role assigned to each division. After the city of Abidjan, the project "Abidjan, green city of Africa, city without pollution" intends to deploy its soldiers in Abobo, Songon and many other cities in the interior of Côte d'Ivoire.
