N'Djamena - The African Beauty Association has officially launched its project to set up a craft production unit for the empowerment of women. This non-profit structure was created following a report of lack of presence of craft structures instituted for the empowerment of women.

The African Beauty Association trained 95 women and 5 men with the support of partners such as OXFAM, the French Development Agency, the Feminist Fund and small local women's organizations. It trained the women in different areas such as dyeing, weaving and sewing.

The association's project focuses on two themes: women's empowerment and the fight against gender-based violence. It aims to strengthen women's participation in the economic, social and cultural life of their community by offering them training and work opportunities.

The establishment of this handicraft production unit is an important step towards the empowerment of women, which will allow them to become financially independent and take control of their future. The members of the African Beauty Association are convinced that this project will contribute to the fight against gender-based violence by empowering women and helping them make important decisions about their lives.
