Mali/Kayes-Sandaré Road. Effective start of the preliminary works of urgency!
On the instructions of the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, a supervisory mission visited the construction site of the Kayes-Sandaré road on Saturday, January 7, 2023.
The mission is composed of the Governor of the Kayes region, the Technical Advisor of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the Director General of Roads, the Director General of AGEROUTE and representatives of the company COVEC-Mali and the control mission.
This preliminary emergency work consists of filling potholes and making the section passable as a prelude to the rehabilitation of the Kayes-Sandaré section (138km) of the Bamako-Dakar corridor from the north.
As for the launch of rehabilitation work on this section, the service order was notified to the company for the start of work from January 16, 2023.
The control mission and the COVEC-Mali company are already on site with some of the equipment mobilized.
Firm instructions have been given to reinforce the material and human resources on site in order to accelerate the pace of work.
The date for the official launch of the work will be set by the highest authorities.
