Morocco/Remise of 92 school buses to the five provinces of the region of Beni Mellal-Khénifra

A total of 92 school buses were handed over on Monday to several local authorities in the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region, as part of the continuation of social support services offered to students in the region.

The ceremony of handing over these buses for school transport was chaired by the Wali of the region Beni Mellal-Khénifra, Khatib El Hebil. It took place in the presence of the governors of the five provinces of the region, the president of the regional council, the director of the Regional Academy of Education, and the president of the Ministry of Education.gional Council, the director of the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) and heads of decentralized services.

This initiative is part of the implementation of the provisions of the partnership agreement between the Wilaya of the region, the Regional Council and the AREF Beni Mellal-Khénifra concerning the deployment of the medium-term action plan to promote the educational offer at the level of the region for the period 2019-2023.

The implementation of this action plan has so far provided the five provinces of the region with 312 school buses out of a total of 423 school buses.

At the end of this program, which runs until 2023, the provinces of Azilal and Khenifra will be allocated a total of 104 school buses each, the province of Fkih Ben Salah 85 school buses and the provinces of Beni Mellal and Khouribga 65 school buses each.

Signed on September 27, 2019 in the presence of the Minister of National Education, this agreement providessees a financing of 1.784 billion dirhams (MMDH) of which the contribution of the Regional Council amounts to 584 million dirhams (MDH) and that of the AREF to 1.2 MMDH.

The budgetary envelope dedicated to school transport represents 8.5% of the total funding, i.e. 151 million dirhams. The financial contribution of the Regional Council is dedicated to the establishment of community schools, school canteens, boarding schools and the acquisition of school transport buses while theAREF has devoted 1.2 MMDH in particular to the construction of pre-school rooms and schools and the replacement of prefabricated structures.

This agreement aims in particular to establish a framework of partnership and cooperation to promote preschool education and expand the educational offer of the region through the establishment ofIn the same context, a new agreement was signed with the Ministry of Education in order to improve the quality and quantity of education in the region.
