Algeria / Mountainous and long landlocked Wilaya: The government at the bedside of Tissemsilt
For the first time, the wilaya of Tissemsilt, home to the famous Mount Ouarsenis, a mecca of the Algerian Revolution, benefits from a complementary program of local development, and this thanks to the sustained interest of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to the revival and strengthening of development actions of this wilaya which has long lagged behind in many priority sectors.
This decision, highly appreciated and welcomed with great relief by the local population, has also been taken in full knowledge of the place and with a view to giving this wilaya the place it deserves in the dynamics of socio-economic development and other that the country knows. As a first action, the President of the Republic has, according to the communiqué of the Council of Ministers, "ordered the Minister of the Interior and Local Government to go down to the field and listen, closely, the concerns of the people of the region. The first action taken by the President of the Republic, according to the Council of Ministers, "ordered the Minister of Interior and Local Government to go down to the field and listen, closely, the concerns of local elected officials to ensure cohesion with the aspirations of citizens, taking into account the specificity of this wilaya which requires a comprehensive development.
It is true that this mountainous wilaya has delays in many areas, such as the development of its rich natural potential, the realization of economic units for the creation of jobs.It is true that this mountainous wilaya is lagging behind in many areas, such as the development of its rich natural potential, the realization of economic units for job creation, the opening up of roads, the development of agriculture in the mountains, to name a few.
It is already known that the complementary development program of this wilaya, decided by the Council of Ministers on Monday, defines from the outset the priority actions that will be taken in this area.It is already known that the complementary development program of this wilaya, decided by the Council of Ministers on Monday, defines the priority actions that will be undertaken to ensure a harmonious and balanced development of the regions of the Ouarsenis.
It is stressed in fact that "the development of the wilaya is primarily through the opening and revival of various projects frozen after a thorough survey, in addition to lifting all constraints, including vital projects related to the citizen. The statement adds in this regard "the increase in the quota of the wilaya in terms of rural housing and revival of projects and public investment, to reduce the unemployment rate and create new jobs. This certainly meets the expectations and aspirations of citizens and local elected officials of the wilaya who see it as an effective and comprehensive response to address their major concerns, to bring the region in line with the development of other wilayas.
Initially attached to the neighboring wilaya of Chlef, the wilaya of Tissemsilt was born through the administrative division of 1984. It has more than 300 000 inhabitants spread over a vast area of 3151 km2. The population lives mainly from livestock and some agricultural activities. The industry is limited to three production units only, namely the company of baryte mines in Boucaid, a private brick factory and the company of production of covers and textiles in Tissemsilt. There has been no other investment in the field for years or in the development for tourism exploitation of the extraordinary natural potential of the wilaya, including Bordj Bounaama, Boucaid and Theniet El Had, despite the ever-increasing needs of young people entering the labor market.
This is due in part, according to a former executive Boucaid, contacted by us yesterday, the unavailability of land because of the forest character of the region with a rugged terrain. He also said that the wilaya of Tissemsilt has still recorded a significant improvement in terms of gas connection, electricity, water and what is also the state of roads.
However, the wilaya of Tissemsilt is accessible directly to the center of the country by only one road, namely the RN19 which leads to Chlef and distant 30 km from the borders between the two wilayas. This road is very busy in both directions but is narrow and winding in the middle of a majestic forest. The local population had high hopes for the project of the penetration Ténès-Tissemsilt, but it is at a standstill at the level of its first section from Chlef to Ténès.
However, the complementary program of local development, decided by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for the wilaya of Tissemsilt, will obviously improve the living conditions of the population. Obviously improve the living conditions of the inhabitants and develop the region which will be able to catch up on its socio-economic plans.
