Tambacounda City Council has allocated most of its investment budget for the year 2021 to the education sector by rehabilitating several schools, said Monday its secretary general Mamadou Diallo.

The priorities for the administrative account were the re-roofing of classrooms and the fence wall of Plateau 1, Dar Salam commune, Lamine Danfakha and Batou Diarra schools and the construction of the fence wall of Gourel Diadié 2 school. An amount of 24 million CFA francs has been allocated for the realization," he said.

Mamadou Diallo was speaking at the end of a session of the municipal council devoted to the examination of the management account for the year 2021.

''It will allow the new municipal team to make adjustments for the upcoming account, so as to succeed in their mission,'' he said.

For this year, capital expenditures have increased slightly. They increased from 126,260,334 FCFA in 2020 to 174,476,524 FCFA, or 25.11 percent of investment revenue.

In the 2021 budget year, the City of Tambacounda has disbursed 26,736,600 CFA for the extension of public lighting.

The municipality of Tambacounda is the largest employer in the region. Therefore, it is almost impossible to make achievements on its own funds but with the revenue of the City Council, we will manage to meet the needs of the population," said Mamadou Diallo.

He also reported that a sum of 14,500,000 francs has been allocated to the development committees of neighborhoods of the town, in garbage cans and cash.
