The Minister of Industrial Development and Small and Medium Industries, Moustapha Diop, said that the western agropolis, whose work was launched Thursday in Ballabougou, near Nguéniène, will strengthen the vocation of economic competitiveness pole of the department of Mbour (west).

This agropolis "is a concrete translation of the spirit of the reform of Act 3 of decentralization, whose purpose is to organize Senegal into viable, competitive and sustainable development territories.

At a cost of 54 billion CFA francs, the western agropolis, which will be built on an area of 1,160 hectares, is part of the agricultural component of the Emerging Senegal Plan.
