In order to guarantee the right to water and the rational and sustainable use of this vital commodity, the Municipality of Casablanca urges the local population to optimize the consumption of available water resources and to use all means to avoid wasting them, the objective being to cope with the water stress that Morocco is experiencing due to low rainfall leading to a shortage of dams and groundwater.

In this context, the Municipality of Casablanca has decided, as of August 3, 2022, to prohibit all actions leading to the waste of water, in particular the watering, during the day, of public and private green spacess, the washing of vehicles and machines with drinking water or high pressure water jet, as well as the cleaning, in respect of water hoses, of avenues, streets, public spaces, residential areas and various businesses.

It is also prohibited the use of fire hoses for water supply, the splashing of water on the public highway and the waste of wastewater when using water points intended for the public.

The Municipality warns that any act contrary to the economy in the use of water, will be punished in accordance with the provisions and legal procedures in force in this matter.
