Benin/Working visit to the Industrial Zone of Glo-Djigbé: Olivier BECHT welcomes a real industrialization of Benin

The delegation of the Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade of France, Mr. Olivier BECHT led by the Minister of Industry and Trade of Benin, Mrs. Alimatou Shadiya ASSOUMAN was on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 on the Industrial Zone of Glo-Djigbé for a working visit followed by a guided tour of the site

This visit is part of the working visit to Benin of the French President, Mr. Emmanuel MACRON. Welcomed by the managers of APIEx and SIPI-Benin, the delegation of Minister Olivier BECHT had a working session during which the General Directors of APIEx, Mr. Laurent GANGBES and SIPI Benin Beheton, were present.Laurent GANGBES and SIPI Benin Beheton LETONDJI presented the Industrial Zone of Glo-Djigbé (ZES), the heart of a real industrialization of our country.

"Covering an area of 1640 hectares of which 400 hectares have been developed for the first phase with more than 32 investors who have already signed, the Industrial Zone of Glo-Djigbé aims to promote and attract agricultural, industrial, commercial and service investors; to encourage direct investment, both local and foreign; to promote the development of the country's economy.and foreign direct investment; to encourage the development of national production and natural resources; to develop the manufacturing industries of primary, secondary and tertiary products; to encourage the development of thetions; increase the competitiveness of "Made in Benin" products and promote job creation."said the presenters. This was followed by the presentation of the model of the Zone and a guided tour of the site, from the cashew storage warehouse to the textile company where more than 2000 young people work.

"I am very impressed by the dynamism that emerges from this Industrial Zone of Glo-Djigbé which offers enormous potential. There is an economic miracle happening here in Benin. It is incomprehensible that French companies are not in the Zone. We will make these opportunities known and we will bring French investors to choose Benin" said Minister Olivier BECHT at the end of the visit.

For the Beninese Minister of Industry and Trade, the dynamics underway in the direction of the industrialization of our country will continue thanks to the will and determination of President Patrice TALON.

The delegation of the Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade of France was composed among others of some members of the ministerial cabinet and a no less important number of French business leaders.
