Niger/GIZ support to the National Food Crisis Prevention and Management System: Two 4 x 4 vehicles to strengthen the institutional capacity of the system
The German cooperation, through the GIZ, has offered two 4 x 4 vehicles to the National Device for Prevention and Management of Food Crises (DNPGCA) to strengthen the institutional capacity to cope with the current food crisis situation. It was the Deputy Director of Cabinet of the Prime Minister, Mr. Aghali Abdoulkader who officially received the donation yesterday morning from the hands of the Resident Director of GIZ Niger, Dr. Andreas Konig.

Germany has quickly shown its willingness to support Niger by mobilizing more than 500,000 Euros, most of which will be dedicated to the region of Tillabéri. "The handover of the vehicles is part of the institutional capacity building of the DNPGCA support project," said Mr. Andreas Konig. He then added that this equipment will help build capacity to intervene on the ground with the people to meet the challenge of food security in Niger.
Receiving the donation, Mr. Aghali Abdoulkader recalled that, in addition to the support in terms of rolling stock, the DNPGCA has benefited from technical and financial support in the framework of the GIZ project "Support to the DNPGCA". For Mr. Aghali Abdoulkader, this is sufficient proof of the interest that German cooperation has in the food security, nutrition and pastoral sub-sector in Niger. "These multi-faceted supports always come at the right time, when the needs of rural populations are felt more acutely and severely. As in this year 2022," said the Prime Minister's chief of staff.
Also, Mr. Aghali Abdoulkader reiterated the thanks of the Nigerien government to Germany for all the efforts made in the framework of reducing vulnerability and strengthening the resilience of populations affected by multiple shocks.
