Belgium/Village Scene, a cultural tour that brings conviviality and culture to the heart of the villages of Walloon Brabant
In her Outside column, Caroline Veyt takes you to Walloon Brabant, to discover Scène de villages, a project that was born already in 2017 and that associates 7 communes of Eastern Walloon Brabant. The goal is to bring conviviality and culture back to the heart of the villages. Each year, the same communes are involved in the project, but we change villages, so that everyone can enjoy it.
The 2022 edition started on May 14th in Orp-Jauche and will end on October 1st in Hélécine; in between, there will be many happy moments to live together.Especially since this year, we are back to the initial formula, no reservation, no mask and no limit of places!
The second stop of the Village Scene is planned for this Saturday, May 28, and it will be held in Sint-Truiden-Thorembais, in the municipality of Perwez. As there is no village square in Sint-Truiden-Thorembais, the event will take place in the Ferme du Ponceau.
And who says farm, says animals and the shows chosen for the day of Saturday are in connection with this theme.
At 2pm, you will be able to enjoy theMIAM tale, the story of a little red hen who lives in a big farm with her farmer. One day, she goes fishing with him, finds an egg and hatches it. And when the egg hatches, a strange baby comes out... and it eats a lot. A half-hour story for children over 4 years old
You can then attend one of the performances of Cryptozoology; a shadow show that takes place in a caravan... There are 3 episodes of 20 minutes around an adventuress who leaves to discover enigmatic animals...
At 4pm, a concert for young audiences by Les Chèvres à pull, aimed at children over 2.5 years old. The group proposes humorous and interactive songs with completely zany characters...
And then, the closer we get to the evening, the more music there will be, and for all audiences.
At 6pm, for the aperitif, you will be accompanied by the Barnill Brothers, with folk and blues influences, and at 8pm, the last long appointment of the day, it's En fanfare, a brass band that will take you to New Orleans rhythms.
There are also activities planned such as a Passe-tête workshop, the Canaroscope; a completely offbeat duck fishing where children have to pedal to move the carpet and when they receive a gift, it is a piece of music or a song. A nature walk in a nature reserve and a bike ride on the malt road. These are the only activities for which you have to reserve your place.
It promises to be a great event! Find all the practical information on the website of the Cultural Center of Walloon Brabant.
