A workshop on the theme of babies' development and their awakening took place at the Blanco media library on Saturday, January 22.

Led by Marie Lagarde, occupational therapist, and Isabelle Charpentier-Michenot, nursery nurse, this workshop entitled Confident Parent, is part of the program Health Prevention the first 1,000 days, proposed in Brenne within the framework of the Local Health Contract. A booklet was given to the participants "containing all the information we presented, and giving links to resources, citing partners", says Marie. For the two professionals, it is a joy to have seen a project that they had wanted to set up come to fruition: "Wehad the idea of such a workshop, with regard to the perinatal and early childhood public health device: The 1.We had the idea of a workshop like this, in light of the public health perinatal and early childhood program: The first 1,000 days of the baby. It goes from the period of pregnancy to 2 years. In the Indre region, we were selected, along with the Maison de l'enfance du Parc naturel régional (PNR) Brenne, by the Agence régionale de santé (ARS), which had launched a call for proposals for the 1,000 first days program. We responded with the Maison de santé pluridisciplinaire blancoise and Anne Ruffet, in charge of the local health plan of the PNR," explains Isabelle.
"Knowledge brings confidence" The menu of the workshop consisted of interactive practical demonstrations, basic information delivered notably on the motor and cognitive development of the baby's brain, allowing the choice of the right equipment for the child. It also included adviceon " early-learning toys, carrying methods (in a sling or otherwise), thechoice of a mat, a playpen or a bouncer if mom or dad are busy in the kitchen, etc .", says Marie. "Wegive all kinds of information and more," says Marie, adding that "knowledge brings confidence.
The stages that the baby goes through from its first days, the learning process, the awakening of the senses, and also the differences "are all fundamental subjects to be discussed.Parents then have half an hour to ask specific questions, exchange and share their experiences or questions with the other parents present," concludes Marie.
