Cameroon - Entrepreneurship : An entrepreneurial crusade in Yaounde to build business creators and not job seekers
This concept which is held for the first time in Cameroon opened this Thursday, November 25, 2021 in the Cameroonian capital, at the initiative of the organization Youth Employment Services.
At the opening of the first edition of the Cameroon Entrepreneurial Crusade (CAMEC), this Thursday, November 25, 2021 in Yaounde, the organization Youth Employment Services (YES Cameroon), carrier of this concept, notes that many young people, once they have completed their training cycle, have an incandescent desire to find a job or be recruited into the Cameroonian civil service. The concept is based on the fact that many young people, once they have completed their training cycle, have an incandescent desire to find a job or be recruited into the Cameroonian civil service. And yet, Gilbert Ewemeh analyzes, they are capable of contributing to the creation of added value, and to help the Cameroonian economy, but do not believe for the most part in their potentialities.
It is in this regard that CAMEC intends to "motivate young people and bring them to change their mindset towards job creation and job search. It is a concept to build business creators. Cameroon is still virgin and has many opportunities," said the Chief Executive Officer of YES Cameroon to the hundreds of young people mobilized for this meeting.
Clearly, the objectives of this entrepreneurial crusade are to change the mindset of young people towards entrepreneurial activities; give them the means to acquire the knowledge they need to succeed; create a new generation of job creators and not just those who have been left behind.ateurs d'emplois et non de chercheurs d'emplois ; réunir les acteurs essentiels de l'écosystème entrepreneurial pour faire progresser le secteur privé camerounais ; équaliser les participants sur la création et la gestion d'une entreprise. "The panelists we have selected from different sectors will stimulate the participants and present the economic potential of Cameroon and the opportunities available to them. We have also planned coaching and follow-up for young people with project ideas. We can then accompany them to mobilize resources and better create jobs, "says Gilbert Ewemeh.
This being the case, the various themes discussed during these exchanges focused on the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cameroon; the creation and management of a business in Cameroon in the context of industrialization; the digital economy and the role of the private sector in the economy.Industrialization; the digital economy and job creation; investment mechanisms and innovative financing for startups and SMEs; and especially the effective design of a project idea. "Entrepreneurship does not necessarily require financial means to start, or any expertise. We must know what we want, and be aware that in our ecosystem in Cameroon, we should not expect everything from the state. It is a matter of us being able to equip these young entrepreneurs of the future with the notion of entrepreneurship and share with them the technical tools that will make them stand out from the competition," said Falonne Yepmo, General Manager of the Cameroonian subsidiary of Summitcom Group.
It is important to note that YES Cameroon is a non-profit organization specializing in business and entrepreneurship, whose mission is to support the efforts of government, the private sector and communities through its development projects.
