France/Finistère. The ecological transition at the heart of the concerns of companies and communities
Quimper (Finistère) will host Breizh transition, a trade fair on ecological transition on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 December 2021. The subject has become a must for companies and communities.
In the aftermath of the Cop26 (Conference of the Parties), we are right in the thick of things," emphasizes Isabelle Assih, mayor of Quimper(Finistère) and president of the Quimper urban area. The transition is at the heart of our priorities, we, communities, but also companies. We have a real desire to promote certain practices that are more respectful of our resources. "
And to cite some concrete examples of community projects in the field of wind power, photovoltaics, hydrogen (very much in vogue at the moment), public transport and the promotion of cycling.
Circular economy, digital transition
"The energy transition involves a change that includes the implementation of many major technological breakthroughs," says Jean-Paul Cozien, vice-president of Quimper Bretagne occidentale (QBO), " but also the questioning of our individual as well as collective uses. "
On Thursday 2 and Friday 3 December 2021, at the Quimper Exhibition Centre, 70 exhibitors will present their actions in the fields of energy transition, new mobilities, circular economy and digital transition.
The most telling example is undoubtedly the company Yprema, which recycles deconstruction materials. The recycling of building waste is becoming a way of life," says Pierre Tallec, manager of the Pluguffan branch. The lorries bring in the waste and leave with a new material. "No empty lorries, which is good for transport. And the planet.
Exchange of know-how
Daniel Le Bigot, vice-president of QBO in charge of sustainable development, talks about an additional and almost general step. "We have moved from production to use, to reuse now. "
This exhibition, a showcase of skills, "is an opportunity to exchange our know-how", explains Gildas Lagadec, director of Transdev, a mobility operator.
EDF is, of course, one of the speakers. Sustainable development, mobility, data intelligence, offshore wind power, hydrogen... "Today, all companies are promoting CSR (corporate social responsibility). In some countries, environmental and societal scoring is more important than financial scoring," says Frédéric Cospérec, director of territorial development in Brittany at EDF.
The banks also follow, as the Agricultural Credit with a "financial support, an expertise for the carriers of projects, as in the field of photovoltaic or methanisation" , notes Audrey Brossard, in charge of the CSR mutualism.
Although Breizh Transition is a trade fair reserved for professionals and local authorities, the subjects covered concern all citizens, even in simple everyday actions such as waste sorting. As the protagonists of Breizh transition point out, it is high time to act, not for the future but for the present.
