On 22 November 2021, the august chamber hosted the activities of the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace, through a discussion on the contribution of sport and culture in the context of crisis.

Under the theme:"The contribution of sport and culture in the preservation of sustainable peace in times of crisis and pandemic COVID-19", the Parliamentary Action Day for Peace, which took place yesterday, Monday 22 November, put women parliamentarians in the forefront. In addition to the elected officials, several members of the government also took part in this activity organized by the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (AIPP-Cameroon). Heading this parliamentary network, MP Emabot Brigitte justified the theme chosen. "Sport and culture ignite so many people, and these are moments of entertainment, peace and joy..."

Despite its symbolic nature, this day reminds us how much peace, a concept that makes up the motto of Cameroon, is strongly shaken in our context, with on the one hand, security with terrorism, and on the other hand, the need to protect the environment. On the one hand, on the security front with the terrorism of Boko Haram in the Far North region and separatist wars in the North West and South West regions. On the other hand, the health plan because of the pandemic of COVID-19. Less mortgaged, sport comes at the right time when we know that Cameroon will host the African Cup of Nations in January 2022.

The exchanges allowed the development of the five principles of the "Ambassadors for Peace". The first principle states that "there is a God who is the creator of all and the parent of humanity. The second principle, again inspired by the Godhead, states that "human beings are essentially spiritual in nature". The third principle places the family as the primary unit of life in society. In other words, "the family is the school of love and peace, the cornerstone of peace and the root of our character and culture. The fourth principle advocates love of neighbor in that "the highest standard for relationships is to live for others. The morality here is that "by practicing living for others, we become altruistic rather than self-centered. Finally, the fifth principle suggests a society of tolerance and compromise. For, "inter-religious and international cooperation is essential for world peace. Also, lasting peace cannot be achieved by political compromise alone, but requires addressing the causes and roots of conflict. Therefore, "overcoming racial, religious and ethnic barriers is an imperative of our time".

The AIPP's objectives are to promote good governance in all sectors of society; to develop quality educational programs for parliamentarians; to promote dialogue and cooperation among parliamentarians from all countries of the world; and to promote the development of a culture of peace. The AIPP's objectives are to promote good governance in all sectors of society; to develop quality educational programs for parliamentarians; to promote dialogue and cooperation among parliamentarians from all over the world in order to strengthen peace and human development; to protect, preserve and defend the dignity and worth of every human being...
