The tenth edition of the Franco-Mexican call for projects in support of decentralized cooperation was launched on March 1 by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Delegation for the External Action of Local Authorities (MEAE/DAECT) and the Mexican Ministry of External Relations (SRE/AMEXCID).

The two States had decided to continue supporting relations between the communities of their countries in order to respond to the local development challenges raised and accentuated by the pandemic: health, economic development, integration and social cohesion, capacity building of local authorities, sustainable rural and urban development, the fight against climate change.

At the end of the selection committee, two projects were selected to receive support from the MEAE and the SRE/AMEXCID. These are new partnerships in line with the priorities of both countries:

- The Syndicat de Traitement des Déchets Ardèche-Drôme and its Mexican counterpart SIMAR Sureste, will pool their experiences to develop waste collection, treatment and recovery.

- Nancy has entered into a cooperation with Torréon, which is one of the 50 cities targeted by the Mexican government in its internationalization program for sustainable local development. The two cities will work together to preserve the biodiversity of their territories.

Does your community have similar expertise that it is seeking to consolidate by projecting it internationally? Does your community want to develop links with an emerging country like Mexico?

- Join the DAECT's EXPE-CT programme, which offers you the opportunity to have your expertise recognised and to benefit fromfinancial support to build new partnerships or meet the specific needs of foreign authorities;

- Discover also the cooperation themes that interest Mexican local authorities by consulting the requests on France Diplomatie.
