Benin/Gaani 2021 in Nikki: the events limited exclusively to the simple rituals of the emperor and his suite

The grandiose events of the Baatombu and Boo cultural and cultic festival, scheduled for October 19 and 20, 2021, will be limited to the simple rituals of the Emperor and his retinue.

The communal authorities and the imperial court of Nikki, took this decision, at the end of a session held this Monday at the Sinadounwirou palace, in order to respect the decision of the Beninese government.

Indeed, due to the resurgence of serious cases of COVID-19, the low vaccination coverage in our country, the inter-ministerial committee of health crisis management has, through a decision, banned since August 25, all cultural events throughout the national territory. This measure will be lifted, it is indicated, as soon as all the conditions of health security are met.
