Benin/Law No. 2020-26 of 29 September 2020 on the public procurement code in the Republic of Benin popularized in Parakou

The Regulatory Authority for Public Procurement (ARMP), popularized on Thursday, at the hall of the town hall of Parakou, the law No. 2020-26 of September 29, 2020 on the code of public procurement in the Republic of Benin and its implementing decrees, for the benefit of stakeholders, in the presence of departmental directors of trade and industry of Benin and some members of the departmental administrative conference of Borgou.

The objective of this session, according to the communicator Sylvie Dontè, is to enable participants to better understand the content of this law and identify its application decrees. She presented the purpose, the scope and the generality of this law N°2020-26 of September 29, 2020, by mentioning the organs of awarding, control and regulation. "No delegation of the power of approval without a delegation act," she insisted. The procedures and techniques of procurement and other innovations brought by this law according to the different stages of procurement procedures were also scrutinized.

According to the communicator, there are four (04) new techniques of public procurement in the Republic of Benin namely the grouping by orders, the framework agreement, the electronic auction and the central purchasing.

The answers to the questions have better strengthened the level of understanding of the participants on this law.

The secretary general of the department of Borgou, on behalf of the prefect, welcomed the holding of this session which, according to him, will enable the various actors of public procurement to avoid harmful acts.
