In 2019, Angelo Marasca, the mayor of Lusigliè (pronounced "lusillé"), a small town in the Piedmont region of Italy, contacted Jacky Gauvin, then mayor of Luzillé.

The two councillors met in the autumn of the same year and were able to note that beyond the name of their commune, which is almost identical, they have many other points in common which could lead them towards a twinning. Both are indeed agricultural and are part of a territory located around a historical heritage with many castles. Lusigliè was also a French commune during the Napoleonic era and until 1812.
In 2020, after the municipal elections, the new mayor of Luzillé, Anne Marquenet-Jouzeau, and Angelo Marasca exchanged by videoconference and came to the conclusion that they had common objectives around agriculture, crafts, trade, tourism and associations.
After the deliberation of the municipal council on the acceptance of the creation of a twinning between the two villages, a committee had to be set up in order to ensure the promotion and the animation of this twinning. A meeting was held on Friday, June 4, in the village hall, and it is with a lot of enthusiasm that the following were appointeds Jacky Gauvin honorary president, Anthony Graule president, Noémie Pasquet vice-president, Maria Loi treasurer and Anne Gabel secretary.
