Benin/Justin Assion Akouété reports on the progress of the road works in progress in the Couffo region

The departmental director of infrastructure and transport (DDIT) of Couffo, Justin Assion Akouété, during the second ordinary meeting of the departmental administrative conference (CAD) held Wednesday in Aplahoué, in the presence of Prefect Christophe Mègbédji, presented the level of execution of road works and road maintenance projects currently underway in the department of Couffo.

These are four major road worksites and two major road maintenance projects, which have made significant progress in their implementation. According to Justin Assion Akouété, these road worksites concern the construction of the Kolodo road which is almost completed, the development and asphalting of the Lokossa-Dogbo-Aplahoue roads executed at 83%, the construction of the Lalo-Toffo and Lalo-Agbangnizoun roads with an execution rate of 43.19%, and the construction of the Tchi bridge, which is a structure over 80 linear meters and a culvert over 20 linear meters (56% execution rate). He specified that one of the road maintenance projects is a three-year rural track maintenance programme covering 450 kilometres of rural tracks spread over the six communes of the department. The other project, he informed, is a three-year road maintenance programme also classified on about 150 kilometres of classified dirt roads in the department. The rehabilitation phase of the two road maintenance projects is completed, DDIT Justin Assion Akouété said, before adding that it is only the maintenance phase that is underway.

He finished by inviting the population to participate as citizens to enable the companies in charge of the works to carry out their task in very good conditions.
