Recently, FV Hospital organized a seminar on "Equipment management for medical facilities" to share knowledge in terms of managing technical equipment, infrastructure and medical technology, and to update knowledge on new technologies to ensure safe hospital operations.

Sebastian Schade, healthcare consultant at Siemens Healthcare Singapore, said that today's hospital models are gradually transforming, investing in numerous technologies and equipment to improve the quality of treatment and provide patients with a more pleasant and comfortable experience.

Investing in these advanced technical solutions will help medical facilities to simplify management, reduce operating costs, improve staff productivity and better serve patients.

These include advances in global medical technology such as: robotic surgical systems; AI algorithms applied to diagnostic analysis and treatment; 3D printing technology applied to healthcareaugmented reality and virtual reality technology for medical examinations and treatments, and remote medical examinations, among others.

In line with Thomson Medical Group's opinion and practical experience of building and operating medical facilities, Ng Mor Jack, CEO of Thomsonpital Thomson in Singapore, felt that the appropriate application of technology could help hospitals improve the quality of medical examinations and treatments. At the same time, creating technological solutions at the planning stage of hospital operations will help staff to carry out their patient care work seamlessly.

However, even though medical technology has developed dramatically over the past decade, with a level of sophistication and widespread application, bringing great benefits to both clinical teams and patients alike, it is clear that this is not the case. to both clinical teams and patients, the challenges of managing technology, achieving better quality with fewer errors, and operating efficiently remain.

Eric Woo Kit Seong, Vice President of ECRI Asia-Pacific, said that the global medical technology market is expected to grow dramatically to around 598.9 billion USD by 2024. The digital health market alone will reach around 193.70 billion USD. However, the risks associated with medical device management, such as administrative issues, inventories, cybercrime, calibration and commissioning, are still present.

Promoting professional training in medical device management

With regard to the risks associated with medical equipment management, we note that the technical management of medical facilities is an important factor, since itIt enables the clinical sector to carry out medical examinations and treatments efficiently, helping to improve service quality and patient safety.

Today, in JCI-accredited hospitals, the Infrastructure Management Department is responsible for ensuring that all medical equipment and technologies always operate to the standards and back-up systems required for patient safety.

Monojit Mitra, FV Hospital's Director of Engineering and Medical Equipment, said that the FV Hospital's engineering team has been working hard to ensure that all medical equipment and technology is always working to the standards and back-up systems required for patient safety.s engineering team is responsible for the safety of over 1,500 technological systems at FV Hospital. Activities undertaken by this team range from procurement to installation, operations, risk management, training, maintenance, troubleshooting and prevention, and recall management.

"FV Hospital has been sharing its experience with other medical establishments for many years. At the same time, the hospital also cooperates with universities to support them in the training of human resources, thus helping to improving the quality of the national health sector and the health care capacity of the population", said Monojit Mitra.

A few years ago, FV Hospital also signed a cooperation agreement with the International University of Ho Chi Minh City to support the training of students in biomedical engineering management. This is a relatively new industry in Vietnam, but demand is growing. As well as sharing knowledge, connecting and providing speakers for the program, it also invites students to visit and learn the practice.

" FVHospital wants its knowledge and experience in medical equipment management to help shape a profession that brings practical value to society. And that's also why we're organizing this conference", concluded Pham Thi Thanh Mai, CEO of FV Hospital.
