Togo/ Wawa 1 launches its communal development plan
In Togo, the commune of Wawa 1, located in the Plateaux region, has just officially launched (on Wednesday July 23 in Badou) the elaboration of its Communal Development Plan (PDC).
The five-year planning document, technically supported by GIZ as part of the ProDeG IV program, aims to structure and harmonize development actions at local level.
In addition to defining the commune's key social, economic and environmental priorities, the process aims to strengthen participatory governance. Traditional authorities, NGOs, trade unions and decentralized services have been mobilized to ensure an inclusive approach.
"Drawing up a CDP is a key stage in mobilizing resources, ensuring the coherence of local actions and enhancing the economic attractiveness of territories", emphasized Alli Essossinam, Regional Planning Director.
With this launch, Wawa 1 joins the list of Togolese communes that have begun drawing up their PDC, with the support of GIZ. These include Tchaoudjo 3 and 4, Sotouboua 2, Doufelgou 1 and Golfe 7 earlier this year.
