In Togo, the Ministry of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education distributed new tablets to regional education directors on Monday June 24, 2024 in Lomé. The move is in line with the process of introducing digital technology into the country's education system.

These devices will then be deployed in schools to support the implementation of peri- and extra-curricular activities as part of the Education Sector Plan (PSE 2020-2030), which aims to improve the quality of education and mobilize stakeholders in the field.

In concrete terms, these digital tools will enable schools to organize more activities outside school hours, in order to enrich students' educational experience, we learn.

This is an important step in the digital transition of Togo's education sector. Indeed, the initiative follows several other projects, notably the digitization of registrations for the Brevet d'étude du premier cycle (BEPC) and Baccalauréat 1ère partie (BAC 1) exams, implemented since February 2023.
