Morocco/Casablanca Municipal Council approves partnership agreements for development projects
On Thursday, the Council of the Municipality of Casablanca held its February ordinary session, which was marked by the approval of numerous partnership agreements relating to development projects. The session, chaired by Nabila Rmili, President of the Casablanca Commune Council, saw council members approve agreements in the health, social, cultural and environmental fields.
In the health sector, the agreements adopted include a partnership project for the reconstruction and equipping of the Arrazi psychiatric hospital in Médiouna, and the creation and fitting-out of a hospital in the Moulay Rachid district prefecture.psychiatric hospital in Médiouna, and the creation and fitting-out of a hospital in the Moulay Rachid district prefecture.
In the area of social projects, a draft partnership agreement was approved between the Casablanca municipality, the prefectural council, the Hay Hassani district prefecture, the Délégation de l'Entraide Nationale, the IDD association and the local authorities.Entraide Nationale, the IDMAJE association for children with special needs and Casa-Aménagement, concerning the creation of a socio-professional center for the integration of young people with disabilities.
In addition, we adopted a draft agreement entrusting SDL "Casablanca Ressources" with the task of supporting, monitoring and evaluating the delegated management of the Aïn Sbaâ Zoological Park, and the draft agreement under which the Casablanca municipality makes the "Younes" mosque in the Roches Noires district available to the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs.
In the cultural sphere, the agreements approved concern a partnership project for the restoration and maintenance of artistic establishments in the municipality of Casablanca (second phase), as well as the rehabilitation of the Aïn Sbaâ municipal library.
With regard to the road network, the Board approved a partnership project to develop the road infrastructure in the Sidi Bernoussi industrial zone, as well as a partnership project to develop the AC 119 boulevard in the Aïn Chock district.
The session also saw the adoption of a number of other financial and budgetary items on the agenda, including the programming of a donation of around 500.000 dirham from the Bloomberg Philanthropies Foundation to the municipality of Casablanca, to finance programs run by youth associations working in the field of climate change.
The Board also decided to postpone to the second meeting of this ordinary session, scheduled for February 13, the examination and vote concerning the partnership project for the creation ofa space dedicated to electronic games, the programming of an amount derived from court judgments, in addition to the election of delegates representing the commune within the council and other bodies and institutions.
Finally, at the opening of the session, Mrs. Rmili gave an informative presentation on the missions she had carried out as part of her prerogatives, in addition to the actions she had undertaken in the past.Rmili also presented a report on the commune's property register.
