Morocco/Bouznika beach: ONEE mobilizes for people with special needs
Bouznika - On Wednesday, the Office National de l'Electricité et de l'Eau potable (ONEE) launched a sports, cultural and artistic awareness-raising and entertainment campaign for people with special needs, in partnership with the Fédération Royale Marocaine des Sports pour Personnes en Situation de Handicap (FRMSPSH).
This event, part of the "Clean Beaches" program run by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, aims to raise awareness among people with specito environmental issues, in particular plastic pollution of the seas and oceans, and to instill in them ecologically responsible behavior towards the coast and the environment.
To mark the occasion, a rich and varied program of socio-educational, sporting, cultural and artistic activities was developed for the benefit of special-needs summer visitors to the ONEEdagogical village, including environmental protection awareness workshops, waste recycling activities, drawing competitions and sports competitions, with prizes awarded to the winners.
"This action is part of ONEE's ongoing commitment as a corporate citizen, aimed in particular at contributing to the social inclusion of people with special needs," emphasized Wafaa Hafid, head of the local communications department at ONEE.
"The Office has set up facilities at Bouznika beach dedicated to summer visitors with special needs, including wooden walkways for access to the beach, special sanitary blocks, relaxation areas and a number of other facilities.cific sanitary blocks, suitable relaxation areas and beach chairs for bathing by people with reduced mobility (Tiralos)", she told MAP.
For his part, Hamid El Aouni, President of the FRMSPSH, emphasized: "Our partnership with ONEE enabled us to organize an enriching two-day activity for the benefit of people with special needs, in particular our sportsmen and women. Over 100 participants from Casablanca, Rabat, Salé, Kénitra and Khémisset took part in various workshops and sporting activities such as table tennis, beach soccer, boccia and beach volleyball".
"These moments were a source of joy and fulfillment for all participants, while serving as a platform for raising awareness of the importance of preserving our environment and protecting our coastline," he said, in a similar statement.

The event was also marked by a prize-giving ceremony for the winners of the various competitions held on the occasion.
On this subject, participants approached by MAP shared their enthusiasm about their participation in this event and expressed their satisfaction at having been able to take part in the various activities organized. In particular, they stressed the relevance of this experience to environmental education.
