Twenty-one young Madagascans will be leaving for France and La Réunion to take part in support missions linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). "Each mission carried out by the young people is based on the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)," stressed Niry Ramarijaona, national representative of France Volontaires in Madagascar, at the volunteers' presentation ceremony held yesterday at the Espace Volontariat Antsakaviro.

The missions on offer cover a wide range of areas: raising environmental awareness through innovative and sustainable approaches, running and developing eco-places, promoting and conserving endemic and indigenous plant heritage. Other missions will involve protecting green spaces, coordinating events, promoting culture and the arts, and accompanying and supporting people with disabilities.

To prepare for this first wave of departures, France Volontaires has organized a training course for the twenty-one participants. They will work with associations and foundations in France and La Réunion, within the framework of cooperation between Madagascar and France.

This volunteer program is designed to be mutually beneficial: the volunteers gain a rich and rewarding experience, while the host regions benefit from their commitment and skills.
