Jean-Philippe Morin is deputy for associations and local events. He talks about the fête des vendanges, which takes place this Saturday, September 16.

What's so special about this harvest festival?

Jean-Philippe Morin: "It ties in with the 100th anniversary of the commune. Indeed, it was in 1923 that our commune took its full name in order to differentiate itself from the other Saint-Léger villages in France.

What will this festive day entail?

"Thanks to a dynamic group of volunteers who are always ready to help out, as was the case with the highly successful soap box race, we have been able to mobilize a large number of local residents for a popular double celebration between the grape harvest festival and the centenary. Among the highlights will be the sealing of a time capsule in which every resident is invited to leave a photo or message representing our era, as a testimony to future generations. There will be street performances and a photo exhibition in the market square, with an aperitif offered to anyone wearing a hat or homemade accessory as part of the centenary."

What will be the afternoon's events?

"The second part will take place from 4:30 p.m. on the esplanade of the Gallais winery, with an exhibition entitled Autrefois la vigne, a ceremony, entertainment for children, a race for café girls and boys, and two concerts.ons, followed by two concerts, one by Beryce from 8 to 9:30 p.m., and a grand finale with Rewind from 10 to 11:30 p.m."
