France/ Plescop. The Comité des jumelages needs support
Three questions to...
Pierre Philippot, co-chairman of the Plescop twinning committee.
Why did you set up the Comité des jumelages?
It's a novelty that dates back to November 2017! (laughs) It was set up by members of the Plescop-Nisipari (Romania) Twinning Committee. The aim? Promote young people's mobility, prepare family trips, and set up associative, cultural and even gastronomic exchanges.
What links are you forging with Germany?
In May 2024, the creation of the Cercle d'amitié relaunched the project for a new twinning arrangement between the two communes - Plescop and Schonach im Schwarzwald, a German town of 4,200 inhabitants, located in the heart of the Black Forest.
In January, the municipality entered into a new partnership with Germany. Several meetings and exchanges have taken place since the contract was signed, and we are more than determined to make this new challenge a reality.
What are your plans for the future?
Setting up events to bring families, young people, associations and businesses together. We also want to organize modern language workshops.
The Comité des Twinelages is a firm believer in the European approach and the humanist values it conveys. But to succeed, it needs a lot of participation. We're calling on the people of Plescop to get involved.
