France/Toucy. Toucycois in Kusel for the twinning festival
A delegation of local councillors and residents travelled to Germany last weekend to celebrate 52 years of friendship with music, at the traditional Herbstmesse, a large folk fair.
Martin Hess, Mayor of Kusel, praised the "longevity and solidity" of a friendship built up over more than half a century. Alongside mayor Michel Kotovtchikhine, Bernard Coulon, co-founder of the twinning, Chantal Raverdeau, town councillor, and Christelle van Hecke, president of the twinning committee, had made the trip.
The highlight was the parade of forty-seven groups, including the Élan Brass Band from Toucy and the Konken brass band, who had performed on July 13, 2024 in Toucy. Staying in local homes, the Toucycois enjoyed a stay rich in encounters and emotions. Between laughter, music and shared moments, the future of the twinning looks as promising as ever.
