France/Roche aux fées community runs on "green energy
Roche aux Fées Community is part of the territories recognized for its voluntary commitment in favour of the energy and ecological transition. Three methanisation units on the farm are already present on the territory and several others are under consideration.

The laying of the foundation stone for Enerfées took place during the Bio360 Open 2021 exhibition (30 June and 1 July in Retiers). "This is a collective agricultural and territorial project that will be commissioned in Janzé on the Bois de Teillay area at the end of 2022. This unit will inject the gas produced directly into the distribution network. It will represent the equivalent of 70% of Janzé's annual gas consumption", the local players stated at the show. Roche aux Fées community is a shareholder in SAS Enerfées, alongside the 55 farmers and the Fermiers de Janzé cooperative, which hold the majority of the capital.
1/3 of local woodland resources
During the exhibition, participants were also able to visit the wood-fired facility in Retiers, with two boilers of 600 kW each. 4 heat networks have been created in Janzé, Retiers, Martigné-Ferchaud and Coësmes. They supply public and collective buildings such as swimming pools, hospitals, retirement homes, schools, community halls, etc.Nearly 3,000 tonnes of wood chips are used each year, of which nearly one third comes from local hedgerows, thus supporting the maintenance and development of nearly 300 km of hedges."Each year, "nearly 800,000 litres of fuel oil are saved and 1,600 tonnes of greenhouse gases are not emitted.
Two wind farms are also located in Retiers, Martigné-Ferchaud and Coësmes, bringing together 11 wind turbines for a total installed power of 29.5 MW. Their production represents approximately 35% of the annual final electricity consumption of the whole territory. Two other wind projects are in the pipeline, including a citizen and participatory wind farm, Féeole, supported by nearly 140 inhabitants and supported by the communities. Roche aux Fées community also supports the development of a low-carbon mobility: reflection on multi-energy service stations (natural gas vehicle...), study on the hydrogen sector by looking at other techniques of production and distribution of energy. The community is also involved in the development of low-carbon mobility: consideration of multi-fuel stations (natural gas for vehicles, etc.), and a study of the hydrogen sector, with an interest in other techniques for producing hydrogen than electrolysis, particularly from biomass.
