France/Orbec. Positive results for Orbec and La Vespière twinnings

Like every year, on the 3rd weekend in October, members of the twinning committee took part in the Holzmarkt wood market in Frammersbach, a town twinned with Orbec since 1988, then with La Vespière in 2009.

Six members of the twinning committee were on hand to sell cheeses, butter and homemade bread from Lanquetot in Orbec on Sunday October 22. The Germans gave the Orbequois a warm welcome, and "we'll be delighted to welcome them back to the Orbec Christmas market December 15 to 17," says Gisèle Motio of the Orbec twinning committee. Discussions have also led to the planning of new projects: the renewal of the youth exchange in 2024, and the establishment of a broader project involving the twinned towns.

The exchange with the English from Kingsteingnton was also on the agenda.

In 2022, 45 French people were able to travel to Kingsteignton and renew their exchanges. " This year, from October 24 to 28, 39 English people, including five new members, discovered our region and shared various activities," continues the president. The exchange saw everyone expressing their renewed joy at the prospect of building such exchanges once again. In fact, a date has been set for 2024, in Kingsteignton, Devon.
