The aim will be to guide caregivers and make them aware of the support available, by facilitating the spread of skills.

It's a place where you can find information about professions, training courses, guidance and support. Last week saw a significant initiative for the Tarn-et-Garonne Chamber of Trades and Crafts (CMA). On its premises in Montauban, the organization has just signed a partnership agreement with the Association de promotion de l'autonomie et de la santé (Apas 82), which works in particular to keep people at home.

"We want to develop support initiatives for professional caregivers, in particular company directors and employees", explains Cédric Barthès, Regional Director. This agreement reinforces an already dense activity, which aims to represent and defend the general interests of the craft industry. "A caregiver is a person who helps, on a regular basis, in a non-professional capacity, to carry out all or part of the acts or activities of daily life of a person who is losing his or her autonomy", he continues.

This situation can lead to burn-out, sick leave and difficulties in reconciling private and professional life. The aim of the agreement is to be able to take preventive action to avoid situations of rupture for the managers of craft businesses and the employees concerned. "We are committed to promoting the development of companies in the sector", we insist.

A public administrative body, the regional CMA is administered by craftsmen elected by their peers. Its actions are relayed throughout Occitanie by its 13 departmental chambers of trade. It should also be remembered that the departmental consular section, whose head office is in Montauban, counts nearly 11,000 establishments and employs 15 permanent staff.
