France/In Languidic, the Rimpar twinning committee is relaunched
At the Languidic town council meeting on Monday December 18, 2023, Patrick Le Gal, deputy mayor for associations, spoke of the revitalization of the twinning arrangement between Languidic and Rimpar in Bavaria (Germany).
To strengthen this link, a delegation from Languedoc comprising members of the newly-formed twinning committee (Philippe Dagorne, president, Béatrice Lorho and Pascale Le Bosser, secretaries) and elected representatives (Laurent Duval, mayor and Erika du Prémorvan, cultural advisor) visited the town from December 1 to 4 to "re-establish the friendly relations that have existed for almost 60 years, and to explore new avenues for discussion".
Grant approved
A grant of €401.24 was unanimously approved to cover the cost of the trip. Asked by Mélanie Penneaneac'h, from the Osons l'avenir (OLA) group, whether the culture commission would be involved, the mayor explained that the grant was being made because the twinning committee, which has been dormant for three years, had no cash flow. "The twinning committee is independent, but it has the support of the municipality".
