France/Créon: a partnership to combat isolation among seniors
Créon's CCAS organized a meeting between home helps and volunteers from the Mona Lisa association, to combat loneliness among the elderly.
On Tuesday November 26, Créon's Centre Communal d'Action Sociale (CCAS) organized an interesting meeting between local home helps and volunteers from the Mona Lisa association. As a reminder, the Mona Lisa association is a national organization whose main aim is to combat the loneliness of senior citizens and social isolation (2 million elderly people suffer from loneliness in France today).
Interaction seems desirable between the people who look after our elderly on a daily basis, who know them and their needs, and the Mona Lisa volunteers, who visit these people just to spend a moment with them, play a game of cards, drink a coffee or talk about the weather. Each of these parties sees a facet of the isolated person; pooling this information can be very beneficial for the latter.
This highly successful meeting will be repeated regularly in 2025.
