On Thursday, May 30, the Caisse d'allocations familiales (Caf) and the commune of Saint-Jean-de-Védas officially renewed the convention territoriale globale (CTG), aimed at building a social project for the area with local residents and players, for the period 2024-2027. The agreement was signed by François Rio, Mayor of Saint-Jean-de-Védas, Laurent Teisier, President of Caf 34, and Claire Narang, Director of Social Action and Services for Caf beneficiaries.

Support of around €850,000 per year

This agreement is in line with the continuity of the City/Caf partnership initiated in 1990," stresses the mayor. Today, five municipal structures benefit from operating aid from the Caf: the Relais petite enfance and Lieu d'accueil enfants-parents, the crèche and Maison de la petite enfance, the leisure center, eight extracurricular leisure centers (one for each nursery and elementary school, editor's note) and the Centre jeunesse".

François Rio also pointed out that "the Caf also supports the town's investment projects, most recently by helping to finance the oasis courses and the renovation of the Georges Rascol after-school care center". Noting the importance of the financial assistance provided, he concluded by thanking the Caf "for also having planned to support the town's educational policy, by participating in the financing of the future children's and youth center".

Echoing this, Laurent Teisier emphasized "the growing and significant number of families in the commune" and praised "the town's dynamic approach, particularly to early childhood and youth".

Reaffirming the Caf's commitment, he concluded: "Throughout the processes of consultation, reflection, decision-making and even drafting, the Caf and the Town are thus bringing to life the partnership that binds them and which also contributes to the education and therefore the future of young Védasiens and their families".
