France/Bon-Encontre. Twinning: projects gradually taking shape

France, Italie

As reported in our columns last May, Bon-Encontre has signed a twinning charter with Italy. As of May 9, Bon-Encontre is now officially twinned with Reggiolo in Emilia-Romagna.

A twinning committee was naturally set up, and already includes a number of Bon-Encontrais residents, many of whom have Italian roots. The committee elected Nadine Dumas as president.

Setting up courses

The association will be present at the Fête des assos on September 9; don't forget to pay them a visit!

But it already has plans for the new school year, the first of which is to set up Italian language courses. These will be run by a teacher of Italian origin who already teaches in Nérac and Condom.

A first meeting is scheduled for September 25 at the Salle République (ex-S.I.) for those who have made themselves known to the President. This will be an evaluation meeting. The teacher will then decide which group - beginner or advanced - they will be able to join from the beginning of October.

Two other events are already scheduled for the end of the year: on Sunday December 10 at 5 p.m., a concert of French and Italian Christmas carols will be held in the Notre-Dame Basilica, and to end the year under Italian colors, a sale of Italian products will take place on December 17 at the market.
