On Monday February 19, the new commune of Avranches and the intermediary association Passerelles signed an agreement with the aim of better integrating its employees.

On Monday 19th, the Passerelles association and the municipality of Avranches signed an agreement to promote the reintegration of employees who are far from employment. "This agreement is an important milestone in our relations with our clients: local authorities, private individuals, companies and associations that provide work for our beneficiaries. The provision of these employees by the association is governed by law. It corresponds to a maximum of 24 months, with a minimum total of 150 hours worked per year. The agreement signed with the new commune aims to adjust this legal obligation for the employee to work a minimum of 150 hours a year. The agreement also formalizes the availability of our staff and our ability to respond rapidly to a request from the community: Someone who is absent in the morning can be replaced immediately," says Jean-Claude Huon, president of the intermediary association, whose mission is to integrate jobseekers into the economic fabric.

Passerelles in figures

In 2023, 13 people worked 760 h onthe territory, compared with 20 people for 1312 h in 2022. "For all local authorities, the offer is declining. The new commune accounts for 20% of the work carried out in Avranches and Saint-Martin-des-Champs", explains Jean-Claude Huon. The employees work in a number of areas: cleaning, canteen assistance, supervision and entertainment, maintenance of premises and some roadwork.

In 2023, 101 people were placed at the disposal of the principals. Of these, 51 left the association, 23 of them for permanent employment. The others have moved, are inactive, retired or unemployed. The majority of employees are women, working mainly part-time.

Employees recruited by the town

"The municipality is happy to be a partner of the association and to allow your employees to work in our services. But if your offer is regressing, it's because we may have some stability, as we no longer have individual situations that were generating absenteeism. We've also taken on agents from Passerelles, so we no longer have them as replacements. The aim of your association is to get people back to work, and it's working," declared mayor David Nicolas, before signing the agreement.
