In addition to the awareness-raising, screening and free treatment campaign for blood pressure and diabetes mellitus among Public Force personnel and their families, the Ministry of National Defense's Central Directorate of Health Services was also involved in a number of other initiatives. of the Ministry of National Defense had to reinforce the operational capacities of hospitals and clinics in order to facilitate fee-paying emergency surgery during the same period.
" I would ask all members of the Public Force to come and get screened, because it ' s free and covers hypertension and diabetes mellitus. It's better to get vaccinated, as you know we're sick people who don't know we're sick. Getting screened already helps prevent complications linked to diabetes mellitus and arterial hypertension, in particular strokes.complications such as stroke, heart disease and chronic kidney disease," explained one of the supervisors, Commandant Armel Mbita Mebongo.
Turning to the question of follow-up, he indicated that all patients who are screened will be followed up by specialists, specifically cardiologists and diabetologists, who are available at the Hôpital Central des Armées Pierre-Mobengo.
