Congo/Technology: ICT journalists enhance their skills

On November 8, the Agence de régulation des postes et des communications électroniques (ARPCE) organized a special training session in Brazzaville for the "Pool of journalists specialized in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)", with a view to adapting their knowledge to global technological developments in the field.

Some thirty television, radio, print and online journalists, members of the "Pool of journalists specialized in ICT", took part in the training session. in a training session aimed at strengthening their professional expertise in the field, enabling them to deal effectively with news related to new technologies.

Three themes were developed to enlighten them: "The challenges of telecoms regulation in the digital age"; "The challenges of telecoms regulation in the digital age"; "The challenges of telecoms regulation in the digital age". in the digital age"; "The deployment of 5G in the Congo"; and "The impact of artificial intelligence on the profession of journalist".

The aim of this training was to enable professionals of the pen and the microphone to acquire varied and broader knowledge in the field of ICT to deliver credible information to the public.

"In a context marked by major technological advances, notably the deployment of 5G in the Congo and the emergence of artificial intelligence, the role of the media in understanding and popularizing these innovations is becoming crucial. Today, the Pool of ICT journalists is an essential link in the chain of information transmission between players in the sector and the general public", emphasized Jean Célestin Endoké, ARPCE's Director of Legal and International Affairs, who chaired the proceedings.

The pool of journalists specialized in ICT is a professional structure set up by ARPCE to strengthen the technical capabilities of journalists in the field of technology in general, and electronic communications in particular.
