Congo/AIDS: ACDS continues awareness campaign among students

Launched on 30 November by the association Arche Congolaise pour le Développement Social (ACDS) and its civil society partners, the campaign to raise awareness among young people about sex education, especially about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in general and AIDS in particular, continued on 2 December at the Primary School of Solidarity in Bacongo.

Led by the president of ACDS, Celsa Vital Ngassaki Ndongo, the delegation of the civil society organization used all methods to convey the message of prevention, control and management of HIV/AIDS.

In front of a very young audience of primary school students, the speakers exposed the harmful consequences of uncontrolled sexuality. They highlighted the means of prevention, the treatment options and the acts that lead young people to contract sexually transmitted diseases and infections.

A few hours after the celebration, on December1, of the International Day of Fight against AIDS, it was necessary to educate students on this disease that continues to cause damage. The latter have, in turn, asked questions to facilitate understanding, apprehend the contours of this pandemic.

The director of the wave B of this public institution, Ella Christelle Nkouikanai, took the opportunity to advocate for the improvement of working conditions of students and staff.
