The agricultural credit launch ceremony, presided over by the governor of Tandjilé province, Adoum Moustapha Brahimi, took place on the premises of the Office national pour la promotion de l'emploi (ONAPE), Laï branch.

The main aim of granting these loans is to stimulate the agricultural sector as the driving force behind the national economy, thereby helping to create favorable conditions for the Chadian population, with a view to achieving food self-sufficiency.

It is with this in mind that ONAPE grants these zero-interest loans to producers for their agricultural activities. According to Ousmane Bichara Ith, head of ONAPE's Tandjilé provincial office, the agricultural credit program has allocated 65,300,000 FCFA to 392 farmers in Tandjilé for the 2024 campaign, spread over 16 cantons.

In his speech at the launch, Tandjilé provincial governor Adoum Moustapha Brahimi invited the cantonal chiefs, who are the promoters' endorsers, to raise their awareness so that these credits are used to improve their living conditions, and not used for other purposes.

To illustrate the granting of these credits, the province's highest authority, Adoum Moustapha Brahimi, handed over an envelope to a producer from the Mouroum-Touloum canton. Adoum Moustapha Brahimi took the opportunity to urge the beneficiary producers to respect the repayment deadline, so that other producers in the province could benefit.

It should be noted that cantons that are late in repayment will be taken into account in the second instalment of agricultural credits, which will take place in the next few days.
