Chad/Mbikou: Teachers train for inclusive quality education

On December 24, 2025, the training room at the Centre Koweïtien de Mbikou was buzzing with capacity-building. Under the aegis of the NGO Direct Aid and the Inspection Départementale de la Nya, the teachers completed two days of intense exchanges aimed at revolutionizing their classroom practices.

On December 24, 2025, in Mbikou, a training session focused on a number of fundamental educational themes came to a close. The training addressed the teaching of elocution, reading in preparatory and elementary classes, classroom management and learning assessment.

Over two days, participants benefited from in-depth training on :

  • Drawing up a reading instruction sheet for preparatory and elementary classes, based on the skills-based approach and explicit teaching methods.
  • Preparing a speech instruction sheet.
  • Classroom management and learning assessment.

At the end of their work, the participants made a number of recommendations to the DIRECT AÏD NGO, inspectors and local authorities, including

  • Ongoing training for teachers at the Centre Koweïtien de Mbikou.
  • Raising parents' awareness of the importance of girls' schooling.
  • Improving teachers' working conditions.
  • Regular monitoring of teachers in the field.
  • Guarantee the safety of teachers.

The Director General of the Kuwait Center, Lahcen Aaya, welcomed the facilitators' commitment to sharing their experiences, saying this would help promote quality education. He also encouraged the teachers to formulate recommendations on strategies to be adopted for the smooth running of schools.

Closing the session, the representative of the Departmental Inspector, Nya Neranel Jean Pierre, invited all stakeholders to put into practice what had been learned during the training for the benefit of learners. He also urged teachers to welcome pedagogical advisors for regular follow-up in the field.

This training session enabled teachers at the Centre Koweïtien de Mbikou to acquire valuable knowledge on pedagogical practices, with particular emphasis on the need to encourage the enrolment of girls, a crucial issue for the region's educational future.
