Canada/ Contrecœur adopts $33.3 million ITP
The Ville de Contrecœur adopted a three-year capital expenditure program (PTI) for the years 2025-2026-2027 in the order of $33.3 million at a special meeting on November 5.
For the year 2025, planned investments will total $10.5 million. Of this amount, $5.43 million will be financed by government grants, while $3.74 million will be financed by borrowing by-laws for various works.
An amount of $600,000 will come from the Town's surpluses and reserves, and $645,000 from working capital. Other investments, totalling $85,000, will be financed from the annual operating budget.
Road network repairs, infrastructure rehabilitation, equipment acquisition, vehicle fleet renewal and building maintenance are at the very heart of this ITP. Investments also include land development for the relocation of Amable-Marion Park. Municipal projects for 2025 include the rehabilitation of rue Ducharme, rue Hébert and rue Legendre, as well as the aqueduct rehabilitation of rangs du Ruisseau and du Brûlé. Construction of the new fire station will have a budgetary impact from 2025 onwards, until the borrowing by-law expires.
Several sources of financing will enable the completion of these various projects, as well as the acquisition of equipment required for the smooth running of the Town. Loan by-laws, working capital, surpluses and reserves, grants and the operating budget will be used for this purpose.
"This three-year capital expenditure program is focused on asset consolidation. Our responsible management ensures that our service offering is efficient and sustainable. A number of major projects will improve infrastructures that are essential to maintaining the quality of life of the people of Contrecoeur. Our short-, medium- and long-term financial planning is essential to an equitable ecological transition between generations in the face of climate change. For a number of years now, the City of Contrecoeur has been taking its responsibilities in terms of environmental protection," said Mayor Maud Allaire.
