Canada/Saint-Hilaire: first contract awarded for drinking water supply
The Town of Haut-Madawaska has awarded its first contract to improve the supply and quality of drinking water in the Saint-Hilaire district. The contract is worth $367,000.
This should enable the first work to begin on installing the brand-new drinking water filtration plant, in addition to the new wells. It should be remembered that the water has been unavailable for consumption by residents for over three years.
Tenders for a second call for tenders are also due to open in the next few days. This project is estimated to cost a total of $4.9 million.
