Canada/A new mayor for Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade

The municipality of Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade has a new mayor and interim general manager, following the resignation of the mayor.

Seat 1 Councillor Hugo-Pierre Bellemare takes over the reins of the City, at least until the municipal elections. He replaces Suzanne Rompré, who resigned in March.

Bellemare said he was too busy to decide whether to run for mayor in November.

The new interim general manager is the current mayor of Saint-Marc-des-Carrières, Maryon Leclerc. He is not standing for re-election.

The municipality says it has its sights set on someone who will take on the position on a permanent basis. It is giving itself until after the elections to make a hiring decision.
