Canada/2000 free trees distributed in Quebec City
As it does every spring and fall, the City of Quebec will be distributing 2,000 trees to Quebec City residents on Saturday, September 6.
The distribution will take place simultaneously at six different locations in each of the municipality's boroughs, from 8:30 to 11 am.
Residents will be able to choose from six different species: hawthorn, honey locust, chestnut, larch, pear and apple.
Distribution will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Only one tree will be donated per address, while stocks last. Interested parties are invited to come early to be able to choose from the different types of trees on offer.
Please note that proof of residency, such as a driver's license or tax bill, will be required to get your hands on a tree. Tenants will also need to present a letter of authorization from their landlord to plant the tree.
It is not possible to collect a tree for another person.
This initiative is part of Quebec City's goal to plant 130,000 trees by 2029.
