Benin/Kids' Athletics 2025: Benin runs with the world

For the 2nd year running, Benin celebrated World Kids' Athletics Day on Wednesday, May 07, 2025. The event mobilized over 8,000 children across twenty-four (24) of the country's communes around the theme "Relay around the world".

Under the aegis of the Ministries of Sports and Primary and Nursery Education, in partnership with the Fédération Béninoise d'Athlétisme and World Athletics, the 2025 edition reached its climax in Ouidah, in the presence of several members of the government.

This initiative goes beyond sport, embodying a strong message of peace, fraternity, environmental commitment and the transmission of values. Through a symbolic relay, the children shared messages of hope, solidarity and responsibility.

This celebration reflects the Beninese government's commitment to inclusive, sports-oriented, civic-minded education based on human values.
