Description :
Search for a volunteer to support a technical team of the Guinean organization ADAM (Association for the Agricultural Development of the Mangrove) in the implementation of the activities of the component "Development and Management of Water at the plot (GEP)" of the SARITEM project. More specifically, it will involve :
- Support the technical team of ADAM in the realization of technical studies in the rice plains located in the Guinean mangrove territories;
- Support the conduct of work and the design of tools for monitoring and evaluation of activities;
- To support the elaboration of the terms of reference and the recruitment of consultants for the missions of punctual technical assistance;
- Participate in the development of work plans and budgets, as well as technical reports of the project.
EXPECTED RESULTS OF THE VOLUNTEER'S MISSION:
- The update studies of the traditional rice fields are carried out in accordance with the SARITEM project document;
- The development studies in the collective dikes are carried out in accordance with the project documents;
- The reporting of the GEP component and other ADAM operations are improved in compliance with the agreements with the technical and institutional partners.
ACTIVITIES PLANNED FOR THE VOLUNTEER :
The objective of this mission is to support ADAM's technical team in the implementation of the activities of the "Development and PEM" component of the SARITEM project. More specifically, it will involve :
- Support the technical team of ADAM in the realization of technical studies in the rice plains located in the Guinean mangrove territories;
- Support the conduct of work and the design of tools for monitoring and evaluation of activities;
- To support the elaboration of the terms of reference and the recruitment of consultants for the missions of punctual technical assistance;
- Participate in the elaboration of the annual work plans and budget as well as the technical reports of the project.
Main area of intervention: The Lower Guinea coastline.
Place of residence: Dubréka
Duration of the mission: 24 months
PROFILE OF THE CANDIDATE :
DESIRED TRAINING:
Hold a university degree of at least BAC + 5 or equivalent in rural engineering, civil engineering, construction or any other similar degree.
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Have experience in the design and implementation of small hydro-agricultural works.
MAIN SKILLS SOUGHT (KNOW-HOW AND SKILLS TO BE):
Be motivated to work in the field in sometimes difficult situations; Have excellent interpersonal skills, including open-mindedness, sense of dialogue, respect and team spirit.
Good computer skills, particularly in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, etc.) and computer-assisted drawings (Autocad, COVADIS, Punch Pro or similar) would be an asset.
LANGUAGE DESIRED AND LEVEL :
French, fluent.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
- Driving licence category B.
CONDITIONS OF THE VSI CONTRACT :
- Status of the Volunteer for International Solidarity (law of 2005);
- Installation allowance and resettlement allowance on return;
- Monthly subsistence allowance: this allowance does not have the character of a salary or remuneration, and allows to accomplish the mission in decent living conditions;
- Social security coverage (complementary mutual insurance, repatriation insurance, old age insurance)
- Provision of accommodation ;
- Travel expenses 1 return trip between the place of residence and the place of assignment.
