France/ In Sèvremoine, the Familles rurales association continues to serve the population
The local branch in Saint-André-de-la-Marche, a delegated commune of Sèvremoine (Maine-et-Loire), took stock of the year 2025 on Friday May 29, 2026. More than ever, the association continues to be at the service of local residents, helping them and creating links.
Around thirty people were present in the Salle des Loisirs in Saint-André-de-la-Marche, a commune of Sèvremoine (Maine-et-Loire), on Friday May 29, to hear about the 2025 assessment of Familles Rurales' local activities.
The association employs twelve people for the after-school program, which welcomes 256 children from 176 families. The leisure center welcomed 100 children from 67 families over 19 days and two stays.
Various activities are offered, including floral art, sewing for adults and juniors, and yoga for adults and children, with stable numbers in all these activities. Céline Bonnin, the association's deputy mayor, praises the association's involvement in the life of the commune and encourages closer ties: "We can share projects with your association, which reaches so many people.
A reflection on food
The association has launched a theme around positive eating, with reflections on how to eat tomorrow and eating disorders in children. Various actions were carried out in partnership with a dietician, schools, the school canteen and the Indigo social center. Several highlights - a games evening, a dietician's meeting, a gardening workshop - were attended by around twenty families. The last of these was a visit to the Le Petit Lérot farm in Le Longeron, to bring residents closer to local producers and help them choose and eat better.
Blood donation
Familles rurales also runs three blood drives a year, thanks to the commitment of a dozen volunteers "to make a concrete contribution to the constant need for blood products. Every donation can save lives", insist the volunteers.
At each blood drive, at least 80 people turn up. The association points to the recent opening of a plasma donation center in Cholet to meet the growing need for plasma-derived medicines. The next blood drive in Saint-André will take place on November 10. To register: dondesang.efs.sante.fr
