Make way for our French teachers - JIPF 2025
Supported by the Fédération Internationale des Professeurs de Français (FIPF), the Journée Internationale des Professeurs de Français (International Day of Teachers of French) since 2019 has brought together the public and institutional players around a common goal: to showcase the teachers who work in French-language bilingual training courses around the world.
This year, the theme "Singing, playing, teaching: the French-speaking world in music" set the pace for the activities organized for the occasion from November 20 to 27. Aware of the role played by our teachers of French in Central and Eastern Europe, our National Bureaus (BN) have come up with a host of initiatives to pay tribute to them.
This year's edition is rich in color and harmony, and we'd like to give you a sneak preview:
Armenia
In a self-explanatory video, students from Yerevan State University, Brussov University and the Université française University in Armenia shared their experiences of learning French, made possible by their passionate and rigorous teachers. In closing, they all said a warm and moving "merci"!
Albania
More than twenty teachers from different Albanian towns took the floor to share their teaching practices and experiences. Produced in partnership with the local association of French teachers, these vignettes full of commitment, energy and humor are still available and will no doubt continue to motivate aspiring teachers. At the same time, learners took part in a Francophone music quiz, a festive activity that celebrated, sang and shared the Francophonie in several schools in the Tirana region. In Shkodër, teachers were also able to experience a "musical language bath", an innovative training program that fosters creativity and motivation in the FLE classroom through musical activities.

Georgia
In line with a shared desire to strengthen the French-speaking community in Georgia, support teachers of French and promote innovative teaching practices, thedagogical practices, the Georgian Association of Teachers of French (AGPF) and the AUF BN in Georgia have joined forces to organize a round table in hybrid format on November 27.
How to use French songs as teaching tools, what fun activities to propose in class and how to rediscover the pleasure of teaching were the questions explored by the participants. This reflection on the methods and feelings associated with the profession fully achieved its objectives:
- create a forum for exchange between teachers of the French language in Georgia
- develop concrete tools to boost the teaching of French in the country
- promote the cultural and musical diversity of the French-speaking world.
Moldova
Hosted in the Glia Hub hall of Moldova's Academy of Economic Sciences, the event brought together teachers of FLE and DNL from high schools with bilingual classes, schools with French as a second language (FLE) and teachers of French as a foreign language (DNL).es with bilingual classes, from vocational schools and Moldovan universities that are members of the AUF, focused on three key moments.
French-speaking students paid tribute to French teachers through essays, poems and short speeches, celebrating their commitment and passion. A short training session, led by Claudia Vișan, head of the AUF BN in Moldova and a TV5MONDE-accredited international trainer, showcased practical teaching tools for learning and teaching video clips in the FLE classroom with TV5MONDE. The day concluded with a mini-show of French-language music, featuring accordion, violin and other instruments, for a convivial and poetic moment.presented by students from Moldova's Academy of Music, Theater and Plastic Arts. See the full report in pictures and videos.
So many chords in our symphony of tributes resounding in our region on this festive occasion. What if we didn't wait until November to show our gratitude to those who have trained us? Bravo to our French teachers, who make our Francophonie ever more effervescent!
